I was just wondering if anyone happens to know when RaceCom will either be out for beta or standard release?

BHMS says this "We've learned that it will be released this year and we will post exclusive screenshots tonight or tomorrow. ...."
See http://www.bhmotorsports.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=36838 Judging by the screenshots, I'd say that it's still early days for the project and that it'd be more likely next year some time. But that's just pure speculation from me. Also remember that the first release will be circuit racing; off-road to come later. |

daltontr, did you bother to read the article because I think you've missed the point entirely. And since when did having more choice be such a bad thing?
RaceCom is designed from the ground up to be Mod firendly and goes further to have support for distribution of the Mods built in. So you'll get more than just open wheelers. The devs have said for their first release they are implementing circuit racing with the focus so far on open wheelers. The article also mentions "There are also not many built-in limitations on what can be done with the multibody system. You can build a car with as many wheels as your PC can handle, or try something crazy like connecting a driveshaft to a propeller." ... so where'd you get the idea that you'd be stuck with medium HP open wheelers? |

[HUMOR] Apparently I ruffled P-diddy's feathers. Probably not a smart thing to do, since Diddy drinks CRYSTAL for breakfast. So, for future reference, just so there's no more misunderstandings, please note the following: * Never try to read my mind...there's just too much shit rattling around up there. It's a freakin mine field really. * Look up the term Sarcasm and apply it liberally to "all" my posts. * Never assume that I'm taking a dump on your sim of choice. I really don't invest that much time to be a game critic and I certainly don't aspire to be the a typical RSC know-it-all. I'm sure racecom is going to a tremendous offering. Just like all the other sims before it. Yes, I have my favorites, but I enjoy them all to vary degrees and I would never rip a sim...well...unless it was Nascar Racing...and that piece of...but I digress. * I have no intention of trying to offend anyone, however, I do feel that I am entitled to be sarcastic, irreverent, and occassionally mildly humorous. Trust me, if you knew me, you'd like me. I'm really a likeable guy...just misunderstood. * Hey, I'm 41 years old, smack in the middle of a midlife crisis, and I have 18 month old daughter...you gotta cut me some slack here. ;-) [/HUMOR] Cheers, Troy -------------------- ![]() |

No probs Troy. I'll try to keep the personal comments to myself and stay on topic.
Sure you got the right to post like that but you should expect a response like mine. The post seemed uninformed and a little flippant so I was just hoping to shed a little more light on what you might have been overlooking. I don't know yet if it's going to be my "sim of choice" as I tend to switch between games quite often. |

Actually Drivers Republic should eventually include cars from all types of racing. The main thing in DR is the modders and developers can design parts of cars that are all individually downloadable and can be used to design the car of your dreams and then race with it.
If this project works out I'd like to see race teams designing there own sim cars, within specific guidelines, and racing them against other teams. Very much like real life racing actually. Think about it we could have everything from a Polo cup up to GT, F1, WRC, etc. all in the same sim. |
